primary responsibility of this position is to lead Value Analysis Value

Engineering (VAVE) Mechanical Engineering projects. Secondarily, this engineer

would contribute to product enhancement and/or development based on business



Core duties

and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

+ Identifies andimplements cost savings opportunities in all Mechanical or Electricalassemblies.

+ Works with Engineeringand Manufacturing divisions of the company from concept through release ofinnovative new cost reductions and VAVE.

+ Works with ProductionEngineering division to support low cost, high quality and obsolescencere-designs for long life cycle product.

+ Structures technicalproblem solving efforts and generates solutions in a timely manner.

+ Leads and assumesresponsibility for design activities for assigned VAVE projects.

+ Estimates businessimpact, savings, and costs associated with each project.

+ Applies theoreticalknowledge of design and engineering principals using structural analysis,calculations and tools.

+ Builds prototypes, proofof concept models, and cycle tests solutions as needed.

+ Leads and coordinatescompletion of design documentation with minimal errors.

+ Interfaces withexternal suppliers and design partners to ensure adherence to schedule andquality of delivery.

+ Implementsdesign-to-cost principles to meet cost goals and monitor cost status.

+ Participates inprocess improvements and contributes to and supports team objectives.

+ Communicates to seniormanagement assessed risk and status of projects.

+ Exhibits goodcommunication and presentation skills.

+ Carries out jobresponsibilities in a safe manner and contributes to safety and well-beingof self and others.

+ May involve limiteddomestic travel (less than 10%).
