The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) is currently recruiting for Nursing Supervisors for the PM and NOC shifts at our Wisconsin Veterans Home at King (WVHK). WVHK is a skilled-nursing and assisted-living, long-term-care facility dedicated to providing services to Wisconsin veterans and their families. **Position Summary:**
The Shift Nursing Supervisor is a member of the nursing management team. Responsibilities include supervising direct and indirect member care; collaborating in the development, initiation, monitoring and evaluation of programs and systems that assure quality patient care, appropriate staffing, compliance with State, Federal and Veterans Administration (VA) regulations, and compliance with Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) and Wisconsin Veterans Homes (WVH) policies and procedures. The incumbent has supervisory responsibility and accountability for all shift nursing employees, and the cost-effective utilization of staff, equipment and other resources.
The **PM Shift Nursing Supervisor primarily works 3:30pm-12:00am**with infrequent third shift assignments.
The **NOC Shift Nursing Supervisor primarily works 10:30pm-7:00am**on weekdays and rotating weekends and holidays to be specified at time of hire.

**Minimally qualified** applicants will have the following:
* Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin; and
* Experience leading a project or staff (e.g. assigning work to others, training, orientation of new employees, project management, etc.); and
* Experience in written and/or verbal communication; and
* Experience providing direct/indirect patient care.
**Well qualified**applicants will also have:
* Experience supervising staff (e.g., establishing and enforcing performance standards, conducting employee evaluations, counseling and/or coaching employees, reporting and/or addressing concerns, participating in disciplinary actions, coordinating input from staff, etc.); and
* Experience and/or training on quality improvement principles; and
* Experience working in a long-term care facility; and
* Experience with problem identification and resolution; and
* Experience collaborating with others.

*Salary:* Minimum starting salary is between $73,216 and $77,272 per year, depending on qualifications, plus an attractive benefit package. This position is in pay schedule and range 50-11. A 12-month probationary period will be required.
